The key reason most people fail to get promoted in the workplace is that they do not believe they can or even deserve to get promoted.
This mind-set shows up in ways we aren’t even conscious about.
You may find yourself less productive because you feel that others think you’re doing a lousy job.
You lack passion and cannot get motivated for reasons you don’t understand.
Change your mind-set from thinking you CAN’T to thinking YES, I CAN, and you will get the promotion you want, the job of your dreams, a fabulous relationship, or anything else you desire.
This is exactly what happened to a client of mine.
She went from getting mediocre ratings in her corporate job to getting the top rating among her peers at work, which meant promotion to the next level.
I love it when people get results.
Here’s the strategy I gave her that led to her success.
STEP 1
Decide on your specific goal. We’ll focus on an employment goal today, but this same technique will work with any kind of goal.
e.g., I want to be promoted to Internet Marketing Manager by June 2015.
STEP 2
Now think of a time when you were doing well in your job (any job will do).
Let me caution you here—yes, you can think of a job in your past where you did great. If nothing jumps to mind—sleep on it.Trust me, the answer will come out of the blue for you. My client went back in her memory to a job she’d had 10 years ago where she’d been promoted.
STEP 3
WRITE DOWN YOUR MEMORIES of that successful event!
Half a page of writing will do.
STEP 4
Learn the memory of your promotion[s].
Memorize by heart what you’ve written down.
STEP 5
And now the fun bit [going to the movies]!
Every day for the next 21 days, take ten minutes out of your day and dream about the promotion as if it were happening to you now.
Repeat to yourself what you’ve memorized. You could even run a movie of this memory through your mind before you get out of bed in the morning.

This formula helped my client get a promotion, and the reason this worked is that she changed from thinking of herself as a failure
to seeing herself as a success instead.
In a nutshell, by reminding herself every day of her past successes,
she was able to see that she was worthy of career success,
that she had what it takes. She did it.
She wired herself for success.
SO CAN YOU.
Hope this helps.
Much love,
Neera
