We all have goals, right?
And we all want to be HAPPY, correct?
Happiness is the ultimate goal behind any and all of our goals.
It’s my biggest wish in 2016 to help you achieve your goals, which will help you be happier!
That’s why I’m offering you something I’ve never offered before.
But hold on. First I want to offer you some stepping stones on getting your goals off to a winning start this year.
Steps to Achieving Your Goals in 2016
Step 1: Pick a goal you really want.
You probably have lots of goals you want to accomplish in 2016. But which of these goals are you willing to put in the effort to achieve? Consider these factors also:
- Do you have a support network to help you achieve this goal? Someone to come alongside you, encouraging you each step of the way?
- Is this a goal you can enjoy along the way? You’ll want to enjoy rather than dread the process.
Step 2: Make your goal very specific.
Let me explain what I mean.
Many of us have weight loss goals after eating and drinking too much over the holiday season. But instead of simply having a goal to lose weight, ask yourself:
- How much weight do I want to lose?
- Will I measure my loss in kilograms (pounds) or centimetres (inches)? or be able to get back into your jeans?
Then, take it one step further and get all your senses involved in the goal:
- How firm will my biceps and abs look after I’ve spent time working out?
- How will it feel to slip on that pair of jeans I haven’t been able to fit into for months?
- How proud will I feel when I hear comments about how fit I look?
- How great will it feel to have control over sugary foods and drinks (instead of them controlling me)?
Just writing this gets me so excited to help you and to tell you about my unbelievable offer for 2016. But I have two more steps to share with you first!
Step 3: Create a plan.
Get your mind ready to take action on your goal.
And have a realistic, doable plan.
For example, if you want to start running but you’ve never run before, start with running a mile or less per day. Don’t plan on running a marathon within a couple of months. First see how your body responds, and then slowly increase your distance.
Or, if you can bearly walk set a goal to walk for TWO minutes day. It doesn’t have to be complicated.
If you want to lift weights but have never tried before, get a coach to help you with correct form.
If you’re just starting an exercise program, choose a beginner-level one for a few weeks.
For losing weight, plan to lose a couple of pounds a week. Find a plan that fits your lifestyle and includes exercise you enjoy.
No matter what, choose a plan that you will stick with over the long haul!
You know yourself—do you need super easy and plenty of opportunities to “cheat,” or do you need more hard core goals to keep yourself motivated?
And that brings us to:
Step 4: Always, always ask for HELP.
Don’t make the mistake too many of us do: we start working toward a goal and then quit when we lose motivation.
We tend to underestimate the level of support and coaching that’s required to achieve goals.
The world’s most talented athletes use coaches. People you most admire have modes of support. Support is imperative to your success.
A coach can help you set realistic milestones, use proper technique, and help you stay accountable.
