Week 23: Your Happiness Goal Needs Practice!

Adopt the practice of mental rehearsal to reach your happiness goal
I was talking to probably THE MOST SUCCESSFUL sports trader I have ever met. 
Successful in the sense that he’s not lost any money trading in the last four years, and he makes a healthy profit every time or, at worst, recovers his money if a trade goes south.
And his secret to the unbelievable success he’s had is nothing but the practice he’s put in. 
In his words: ‘The more I practice, the luckier I get’.
Here’s why I’m telling you this. 
If you are serious about making a shift in your mindset, then you must adopt the practice of mental rehearsal. It is the foundational process to changing your mindset.
Learning to drive a car is no different than practicing any other skill you want. The more you practice, the better you get.
Pinning down your vision or goal for happiness is just the first step.
The second step is to run this vision through your mind on a daily basis. And the best time to do this is either just before you get out of bed in the morning or right before you go to sleep at night. But make sure you’re sitting up in bed with your eyes closed. 
To be clear, here’s an example.
With your eyes closed . . . imagine walking through the door of your dream house with a feeling of joy and pride at having just paid your entire debt on the house. As you step through the door, you look to the left and see your beautiful new kitchen. The white high-gloss kitchen units, the black granite worktop with silver flecks sparkling in the sunlight . . .
You can have as much detail as you like in the picture that you run through your head, but the discipline that you need is to do this on a daily basis. Visualising on a daily basis will help to imprint the vision on your unconscious mind. Once in the unconscious part of your mind,your mind will go into ‘problem solving’ mode and figure out a way to make your dream a reality.
The key thing you’ve got to watch out for is that, after a few days of doing this process, you may find yourself making all sorts of excuses like ‘I don’t feel like doing this today’ or ‘This is not working for me’ or‘This is so boring’ or any number of thoughts that will try to sabotage you from keeping up the discipline of mental rehearsal.
Take note that your mind will play all sorts of tricks on you to get you to quit because it has a vested interest in maintaining the status quo.
BUT KEEP GOING.
Soon you will find yourself in a position where the opportunities you seek come your way, you are inspired to take action, or you get direction on how to move forward, and before you know it you’ll find that the happiness that you seek is materializing before your very eyes.
I know this works.
